Mediterranean Cruise

How many cathedrals can you see in a week? More than you can count. This one is in Barcelona; the projected completion date is 2030, seriously.
This is from the island of Malta, in the Mediterranean between Italy and Libya. Malta played a vital role in WWII, is also known as the place that St. John was stranded for two years after his boat crashed, and is the current location of the famous painting of John the Baptist being beheaded.
The city of Pompeii Italy with Mount Vesuvius in the background. We will spare you the photos of preserved bodies that were found in the ash.
The Coliseum in Rome. This was truly an unbelievable thing to see.
Another Catholic Cathedral, unlike Vice Presidential candidate Joseph Biden (an active Catholic), leans slightly to the right.

Fall in Rome

Just got back from an amazing cruise of the Mediterranean. I was a little sad that I missed fall in Utah, my favorite time of year. However, I got to see the amazing fall colors in the sunset while leaving Rome.

So You Think You Can Dance?

We (the goff girls) love "So You Think You Can Dance." So, I surprised the girls with tickets this week to the show now touring. My nephew helped me score 9th row floor seats. (Thank-you Ryan!) We had such a great time. I've included pictures of two of my favorite dances. Originally, I was going to take Cooper. I think he's still mad at me for not taking him to Hannah Montana. But he didn't really seem to care about this one, and Dana did not want him missing football practice to watch a bunch a guys dancing. So, Carly got to take her friend Brady. She's a fan too... so it was a blast! Thanks for a great GNO (Girl's Night Out!)

Back to School

2008 School Year
Taylor's a Jr. at Lone Peak High
Cooper's a 1st Grader at Westfield Elementary
Carly is in 7th Grade at Timberline Middle School

Taylor is my "Fashion Diva" always looking her best.
Cooper picked out his own Tiger shirt for the first day of school. However, he did not want to give me a good picture. I have about 5 of him giving me funny faces and poses.
Dana and I were in Seattle on Carly's first day back to school, so my good friend Kathy took this picture. She looks beautiful in front of the flowers. (OK I'm biased) It's amazing to think she's in 7th grade.

Summer

Because we have been so busy, our blog hasn't been updated in a while. And since the kids start school this nex week, i thought i would just do one big post of all the things we have done this summer.

For Father's Day I took the kids to get some pictures taken. They turned out really good!

We also decided to take a trip to the zoo with some friends. The kids loved it, Taylor not so much!

For the Fourth of July, we had My parents in town along with my sister, Courtney, and her daughter, Race. We had a BBQ and swam over at my other sister, Dustin's house. After that we went to the Stadium of Fire with Miley Cyrus and Blue Man group. However, Race saw a picture of the Blue Men and she got too scared so her and My mom left. But we had a good time!

Dana signed Cooper up for tackle football this season. He looks so cute when he is all dressed up in his pads and all that! He hasn't had any games yet, just practices four times a week. So i guess we will have to see how it goes!

But that is about it for our summer! We hope you all had a great summer also!

Sweet 16! and Prom!

(I've really got to quit taking pictures in the entry way)
Taylor turned 16 last week so now she can date. So, how's prom for a first date. She went with a guy she's been friends with for a few years. She tells me they're still just friends. His name is Rio. They went with their other good friends, Whitney and Steven. I threatened to show up at the restaurant to spy on them. For their day date, they went to the park for a picnic. The boys brought lunchables, typical boys.

Dana's now a Scrapbooker!

Most of you already know this, but in mid February Dana started a new job as the VP of Finance and Operations for Close to My Heart, a direct sales scrapbooking company. Can I just say, he's loving it!! And so am I. Just one of the perks....on pay day, he gets to go to the company store and gets great deals on discontinued or damaged scrapbooking supplies. No family is allowed, so I have to educated Dana on what to look for. He also got to take a scrapbooking class one day. How weird was that, when he said, "Look what I did at work today." But best of all, we get to go on the sales cruise to the Mediterranean in October.
