We're Back!

After a crazy year of ups and downs, I finally experienced the biggest up and down of the year - THE SAWTOOTH MOUNTAINS. About 8 months ago my crazy sisters came up with a plan to run in the Sawtooth Relay. I'm not a runner, but thought, "Hey, why not."
We came up with a team name: "Dile 5 +1" - not very creative, we could have put a little more thought into it. The +1 is my brother in-law David (married to Devri) - He was our driver and our back up runner, in case anyone backed out of their leg or got hurt. Luckily he only had to run his 2 legs, even though they were probably the hardest ones. We all ran 2 legs, with each leg being about 5 miles each. So, 10 miles total. A big thank-you to my Bootcamp Buddies who helped get me into shape. We set an initial goal of just finishing... then changed it to under 12 hours. I'm happy to report we finished in 10 hours and 25 minutes... not bad for 3 women in their 40's, 2 headed in that direction, and 1 40 + guy.
And a big thank-you to my family for being the great support team possible. I couldn't have done it without you! Thanks!

COWABUNGA!

Cooper's baseball team went to Cowabungabay for their end of the season party. It was pretty cold, but the boys didn't seem to mind. Thanks so much to Mike and Julie Huish! I now call Cowabunga the Huish Hangout... and it's the coolest hangout ever.
Taylor even goes when she's not working there. Thanks again Mike and Julie for getting her a job there.
The lazy river is heated to 90 degrees, so Dana loved that.

I had to hold them down for this picture. They didn't want to stop, I think for fear of getting cold.
KUTV even showed up to do a live shot for their story on how the weather is hurting outdoor businesses. Of course, Cooper found a way to get on TV. :) He forgot his mom said, dont' jump up and down and act like a fool. I've seen way too much of that.

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day we headed up to Park City. I couldn't resist taking a picture of this farm House with a big American Flag on it. I made Dana stop, the second time we passed it. Had we stopped the first time, I would have had the kids out walking the paths around it and taken way more pictures. Oh, well.
Dana and Cooper's feet while on the Alpine Coaster (way different from the slide... much more $$ but way better.) Don't notice the holes in Cooper's shoes, we did buy him new ones at the Nike outlet.

Dana and Erin

Cooper, Carly and Taylor

Over the river and through the woods to the Alpine Slide we go! Don't mind the blatant billboards in the trees, and don't forget to close your eyes while the slow moving chair lift takes you by the tree with unmentionables in it.

On the chair lift.

1st Grade Program

Cooper and Gabe
Swaying to the music.

Saying I love you! (1st grade style)

And what first grader doesn't know "Fire Power."
You know its the end of the school year when you have programs, projects, and even more projects. This year's first grade program on manners was awesome. Mostly because it only lasted 20 minutes, allowing us time to get to Cooper's baseball game on time. (Yes, we have our priorties in order.) Thank-you teachers and Westfield 1st graders.

SPRING CLEANING (my memory card)

Highland City Easter Egg Hunt. The kids could only find three eggs and then had to hand them in for a bag of candy. It started at 9:00 a.m. They were home at 9:13.... Gotta love it!

Lone Peak High Spring Fling Dance. They were supposed to dress up as 70's, 80's or any decade. They decided '09 was the way to go. I thought they all decided to wear black and white. A great group!

You know it's almost Summer when the football is put away and the baseball, mit and bat all find their way to the back yard. Got to love My Boys of Summer.

Coug Fans vs Ute Fans

This past weekend we decided at the last minute to go to the BYU/Utah game in Provo. So, as you can see from the pictures, we got really bad seats. In fact we were seated right in the middle of a big sea of red. After an elderly gentleman convinced the Ute fans to sit down, they were not too bad... except for those abnoxious signs. We really got a kick out of the one that read, "Your loss is our plan of happiness." They also had signs reading, "Max Hall... Krueger is open... and a bunch of other utah football players that apparently intercepted Max's passes during the last football game. I had to ask... "This is basketball, isn't it." Dana was not impressed with their originality. In fact, towards the end of the game when it was obvious BYU was going to win, Dana wrote a note saying, "Now what's your plan of happiness." He really wanted to pass it to the girl with the red wig, but Taylor thought that would be too embarrassing. He held off on the note passing. Luckily BYU did win and we had a great time.

"How to Succeed in a Woman's Business"

Hey, just thought I would put a little plug in for my hubby, so you all don't think I'm a single mom with three great kids. If you're sitting in the Dr.'s Office this winter (and who isn't doing that these days?) Pick up Utah Valley Business Q and for our family members out of town, go to the link below and you'll find a little write up on Dana surviving and thriving in the scrapbooking world. It's on the last page, so I hope you have a long wait in the Dr.'s office. Just Kidding!
